Kelowna Airport

Facade, building envelope upgrade, interior office renovation & new airplane engine test facility. The noise reduction in the design of the engine test chamber exceeded expectations and was below the mandated max decibels levels and this was all accomplished in a very attractive 180-degree circular design. The exterior features custom nighttime lighting creating a stunning “moving star” effect on the columns and upper facade. The interior of the front office was also modernized.

Constraints:

  • Engine Test Chamber required extensive airflow capabilities while achieving low decibel levels for surrounding tenants as mandated in the permit. The design and engineering took Redline to both sides of the border to compile a group of experts to design and achieve this task. Airplane motors are non muffled engines and are tested to the max RPM creating excessive noise levels, if you have been close to an airplane you understand this very well.
  • Tight 2-week timeline during the company’s summer vacation for the interior renovations of the front office area so operations were not interrupted.
